So, after a lot of testing with different permutations and combinations for the description in the new expanded ads in Google Adwords, I realised that the message in the description works best when the message is split in the ratio 33:47 characters.
So, we tried making ads that had space as the characters at various positions 30,32, 33, 34, 35, 37, 38 and even 40.
But the best result came at the point when our message had a space at the 33rd or 34th position in the new description in the new expanded ads by Google Adwords.
We got higher CTR on mobile devices, better positions, and we often delivered the right message that we wanted to convey to the consumers.
With higher split character position we generally delivered a weird message on mobile devices because the statement broke at the wrong word and that gave a below par CTR.
